After being raised near the shore of Lake Erie in Northeast Ohio, Ashley chose to pursue higher education and applied to a top journalism university, which was conveniently located near the shore of the Pacific. Making the move across the country at eighteen wasn’t as challenging for Ashley as it may be for others at such a young age. Due to her courage, confidence and strong family support, she lived on her own in Los Angeles and graduated from California State Northridge with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in communication studies.

Ashley has been in front of the camera since the day she was born and begged her mom to never stop filming. She spent her childhood performing everything from “The Ashley Show” to Paula Abdul songs to magic shows with her brother. Every holiday she planned performances for the relatives and each day of summer was spent on her front steps with a karaoke machine interviewing the kids in the neighborhood. Being a devoted figure skater taught Ashley about competition at a young age and her time on the ice has made a big impact on who she is today.

Ashley always expressed herself as a child through choreographed dances and made up songs but her creativity shot through the roof during her high school years. While holding onto her spot on the Honor Roll at a private school, Ashley spent her free time writing for the paper, designing the entire yearbook, planning homecoming and prom, setting up community service projects and taking on the role as captain of the cheerleading squad and treasurer of student council.  The Lake County Rotary Club awarded Ashley with the Leadership Award in 2003 and she was crowned Miss Cheerleader of Ohio/Kentucky in 2004.  Ashley also gave the speech at her graduation commencement before packing her bags and heading west.

Ashley is currently an ice girl for the Los Angeles Kings and is very active in community service throughout the Los Angeles community, which she’s continuing from the hundreds of hours she spent volunteering in Cleveland.

Her well-rounded qualities, excellent training and passion for news would make her an amazing asset to any team. She’s enthusiastic and ready to pursue a career as a news reporter and/or news anchor.  Ashley is up for the challenge and welcomes the adventure of relocating.
